Dr. Daryl Rheuark


Dr. Rheuark has extensive and exemplary educational and postgraduate training in basic and clinical research, medical and surgical technique, and consumer directed health care policy.

He received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) at the University of California at Santa Barbara graduating with Highest Honors (GPA >3.95), and Distinction in the Major of Chemistry in 1983. He then completed course work, undergraduate teaching assignments, and research in the graduate chemistry program at the University of California at Berkeley and received a Masters in Science (M.S.) in 1986. His research interests at that time addressed intercellular communication between muscle cells, viral infections, and protein sequencing.

Dr. Rheuark then received his Doctorate in Medicine (M.D.) at the University of California at Irvine, finishing 6th in a class of 82, and initiated as a Member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 1991.  Research interests at the time addressed the development of the inner ear sensory organs.

He completed postgraduate medical training at his first choice of programs at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 1996. Research interests at the time addressed post cardiac transplantation ear, nose, and throat infections in the pediatric population, and wound healing with steroids.

He started his private otolaryngology-head and neck surgery practice in Torrance, California in 1996. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons shortly thereafter, and was Board Certified in this discipline. He has been a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery since 1991.  He has developed a practice encompassing all aspects of the specialty as listed in the TOPICS section of this website for adult and pediatric patients.

Dr. Rheuark has completed certification and site visit evaluations in preparation for initiating clinical trials for his patient base.Clinical trials of pharmaceutical agents specific to his ear, nose, and throat practice allow him to continue his research interests at the practical level.

He was elected to the Board of Directors of the South Bay Independent Physicians Association (SBIPA) by his fellow physicians for two consecutive three year terms and represents the interests of over 500 physicians and surgeons.  SBIPA emphasizes a consumer driven approach to the practice of medical and surgical disciplines.  Your health care choices should remain yours and not those of third party payers and government agencies.

Dr. Rheuark is also a member of the Independent Doctors Traditional Practice Association of the South Bay (INDOC), again working to protect your access to health care and your choice of physicians and treatment.
